After an extremely nasty February, one warm and sunny day has occurred. The 10 inches of snow melted entirely within two days and temperatures got in the lower seventies, a 40 degree temperature differential over 24 hours. The Upland Chorus Frogs, (Pseudacris feriarum) at least the male ones, took it as a sign that both spring and weather suitable for breeding has arrived and are subsequently making a racket.
No clue what the female chorus frogs think.
More snow is forecast for tonight. They may be a bit premature.
