New phone, new video camera. So gotta test it on this Pseudemys concinna, or river cooter, laying eggs in the driveway. 12 eggs in all. The laying took about an hour from start to finish. Don’t worry. She didn’t seem bothered by the filming. And her nest is now covered with a metal frame holding up a big piece of wood, to guard against cars and raccoons, and permeable to young turtles. It seems to be the only nest that the raccoons haven’t found yet, so she is probably okay with observing.
